December 4, 2015 – The Crafty Maven Getaway

Kelly Barron is up this week for Sketch It Out Thursday. Kelly is using a sketch loosely from Scrapbook.com. It was a holiday themed type of sketch. What Kelly does with the sketch is amazing. She transformed the sketch into something so beautiful.

Using Pinterest Kelly Found a tree cross stitch pattern to make a silver tree on her layout, where the tree was on the sketch. The silver thread tied in so well with the mood board for this week.

Kelly also adds her classic style of layering which tie in some more colors from the mood board as well.

Here is what Kelly said about her layout, “I love this week’s mood board and was so inspired by the embroidery on the girls dress.”

The simple embellishments really help that Tree stand out! It’s so beautiful!!

Aloha Scrappers!! Sorry for the delay in the blog posts this week! This week has been crazy for me, doctor appts, lots of catching up on school work for the holidays coming up. And I also was working on some stuff for the channel as all. You got to love how December just has a busy feel, and with all the holiday planning and activities it can easily pick us up and carry us like a wave. How do you focus your time so you can enjoy all the precious moments in the season?

For Free Flow Wednesday Rachel is sharing with us on The Crafty Maven Getaway. Here is what Rachel said about her layout,

“For this week’s Free Flow Wednesday, I dug deep into my stash for a lot of my papers and embellishments. I worked mainly with the lovely purplish rose color from the inspiration board, with touches of silver and black. Hope you enjoy!”

I love how Rachel made the inspiration piece work for her by using more pink colors instead of the purple.
